The idyllic town of Washington, Connecticut, is one of five villages in the area, rich in both history and culture. In 1779, the town was named after President George Washington, who passed through the area multiple times as a general in the Revolutionary War.   • Averill Farm

    Averill Farm has been family operated since it was purchased in 1746 from Chief Waramaug. The 260-acre orchard grows mostly apples and pears that visitors can pick from mid-August until Thanksgiving.
