You'll have dozens of options if you fly into Milan-Malpensa Airport (MXP), Milan's major international hub, located about 31 miles from Baglioni Hotel Carlton. Linate Airport (LIN) is only 4 miles away, but please note that this much smaller facility generally serves European destinations only. From MXP, you can take a Malpensa Express train and arrive at Milan Cadorna railway station in about 30 to 40 minutes. This station is just a 10-minute taxi ride from your hotel. Your concierge can arrange private transportation from the airport, as well.
We do not recommend driving in Milan - traffic is intense, parking is scarce and there are fees applied to driving in certain areas of the city. Instead, we suggest exploring by foot; many top attractions are near each other and there are many pedestrian-only streets, including Via della Spiga just outside your hotel. Alternatively, the famed tram system and far-reaching Metro systems are good for getting around. Taxis are abundant but expensive.
